SE raffle tags holder
« on: January 14, 2025, 10:22:58 AM »
Hopefully this post stays civil and people can just enjoy looking at pics.  Some friends suggested I share my experience since a recent pic showed up on here by a person taking it through a spotting scope and calling a game warden.  Ha, he even showed up!  However, my friends also warned me about the hearsay criticism I'll take by posting but I thought this animal should be shared.  I'm not doing this to brag or boast but just share a giant bull.

Also, if you “heard” any rumors about me spending a bunch of $$ on the raffle, hiring guides or other BS keep it to yourselves because it's not true.  I think the shared pic suggested I had a person from Oregon helping.  I'm just an avid hunter who got really lucky and got to spend 38 days hunting solo or with a friend or two over the last 4 months.  I build decks for a living and the pocketbook is damn near empty so ping me if you need a new one. 😊lol

My time spent over there wasn't all about the elk though. I got the SE package which is 4 species. I spent 6 days on white tail, 7 on mule deer (in the rut) which was fantastic being you can't do it on the norm here in Washington, and I put the rest of the 25 days into elk. I hunted the rut and late season where I eventually found the bull I killed. I passed way over 100 bulls in my time over there. I am from the Westside on the coast originally so hunting and killing many Rossie’s over the years in the rainforest was sooo different than the hills and farmland of the SE corner. I killed all 3 deer species (Elk, Mule Deer, Whitetail) on my tags and still have a spring bear which will happen in the spring. I hunt 4-6 states a year and this was truly an absolute hunt of a lifetime over anything I have done.
I would really like to talk to other raffle holders to see if they were able to collect all species.
I will send more pics. Seems I only can do one at a time.

Congratulations on a great bull. Look forward to seeing pics of the other species you harvested on the raffle.

Didn't somebody also say pics wouldn't do the bull any justice? I disagree!! That is a STUD!! Congrats on the tags and the once in a lifetime opportunity, and thank you for coming here and posting! Fantastic. Hopefully after you realize this place isn't so bad, you'll consider posting some pics of your other critters too.  8)

Thanks so much for coming on here and posting your buck and bull.  They are both fantastic animals, the elk especially!  Since I had a quality bull tag in the same unit, I know that you absolutely did your tag the justice it deserved, and then some..
Great work, I know you must have done some homework, since that isn't an easy unit.  Thanks again for posting!
Congratulations!

First off, thank you for sharing!

Your bull is a stud!
You shared some great pics.
Absolutely one of the most beautiful looking bulls I've ever seen.

Very cool that you were able to experience the hunting season of a lifetime.

Awesome animals, spending 38 days hunting is quite a feat and I'm jealous of that time you got to spend with friends in the field. Congrats on your success and hopefully you find a nice bear this spring (which I'm also extremely envious of).

Thanks for sharing the story and the photos.

Great bull and buck.

One heck of a first post for a guy that’s been a member since 2012.
