nwhuntinman is my Brother-in-law and I got the pleasure to help him out for a week in September, during the rut.  What an epic week.  Seen several great bulls, but couldn't find "THE ONE".  I called in this bull to 35 yards and he gave it a pass.  What an experience and well done Ron.  You spent the time and had the right expectations.  Hope to get the opportunity to do it again.  I am attaching the video of the passed bull.
nice bull, definitely a pass with the tag he had.

That is exactly why he passed.  If I had the archery tag, or muzzleloader tag, that bull would have been dead.  Way different scenario.

Easy to put some extra inches on those bulls when they're screaming in your face  :chuckle:

The rut was a good ride. Very happy my closest buddies and my Bro-in-law joined me. I'll try to post a couple bulls that got passed or wasn't able to get to them without permission. Anyone that has hunted the SE corner knows there is a lot of private. The biggest feature of these tags is the timeline as I mentioned before. I wasn't after the bext state record bull just wanted to beat my current biggest bull. There are not 400" behind every tree and after going through 60-70 bulls and possibly seeing one in all of those I knew I needed to be reasonable but not keep short of the goal. My goal was 390 to beat the 370 I have on the wall. Having gotten a bull that will presumably be the #1 typical in still hasn't sank in. It will be more solid for me once the official score is done after the 60 day dry time. Here are a couple bulls I passed

Reaching back. My 60 day dry time is concluded and had the B&C scorer measured again after the head and horns competition for a final score. This is what it finished out at. #2 in the state for typical and 17th all time. Now that seasons are over hoping everyone is working on next year's trips. My wife says season is really never over because I spend the time off looking for the next hunt. I bet I'm not alone.

Its awesome the bull got the attention he did. He deserved it. I saved his teeth and will be aging him soon.
I can't believe it's already March. Spring Bear is just around the corner. Pumped to get back over to the SE corner and get back in the field. I'll keep everything in this post so it's easier to follow being all the tags were together.
