Halo
« on: May 08, 2025, 05:30:51 PM »
Anyone else using the Halo collar? I can't say enough good things about them. A little pricey up front, but well worth it. My ESS has never had to have any correction other than vibrate. She gets a whistle then vibrate, no shock needed. Love being able to draw a fence wherever.

Doesn't protect them from strays and if they have any game chase in them it's all put the window when a yummy rabbit or something sprints past

Does it have a shock built in?  The website wasn't too clear...

I looked into it but with two dogs the price is more than I'm willing to pay.  The 30 hour battery was also a turn off, do you need to charge it every day or do you just turn it on and off all the time?

Yes, upfront cost is something for sure. My wife took some time to come along, but now loves it as we no longer need to put her on her cable run. It's all about training as everything is with a dog. Battery is not a problem as we just plug it in each night and put it back on in the morning. We did get a little price break buying 3 collars. Both my sons got chocolate labs for their familys at Christmas.

Training is a must for any dog in that situation.

I think a person would have to be crazy to use and trust one of these systems. Sorry.
