Beretta Tomcat 30X,tip up barrel
« on: January 12, 2026, 12:37:49 PM »
My normal handguns are .38 or .45 caliber, some .22's. Years ago I went on a Walther kick. Among other walthers I got one of the German surplus police pistols in .32. Since then I haven't had any 32.s until recently. Got a colt 1903 hamnerless. Very comfortable gun, fairly concealable, feeds all ammo. Amazing for a gun made in 1914. All this talk leads me to the point of this post. One .32 led to another. Got a 200 discount on a tomcat in .32 caliber. One of my first quality handguns in 1980 was the tomcat tip barrel in .22. Beretta quality but it always had feed failures. So I was a bit nervous with the new tomcat, some poor reviews about feeding issues. I'm happy to report that the pistol had four failures to feed first time out, shooting 50 rounds.  My second outing, 50 rounds again, produced zero feed issues. Believe it just needed breaking in. I now have a very reliable, concealable modern pocket pistol. Sorry for the long post,

I'm a pretty big fan of the tip up barrel Berettas. Been around the .25acp, and have never seen a failure to fire. A .32 has been on my wish list for a long time. Very fun pistols.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!
