"Border Lands Conservation Act" courtesy of Mike Lee (R-UT)
« on: October 31, 2025, 11:05:38 AM »
Doesn't look like much has been said about this on the forum so I thought I'd put this out there.

https://www.themeateater.com/conservation/public-lands-and-waters/mike-lees-latest-bill-targets-over-9-5-million-acres-of-wilderness-in-u-s

There's a link to the bill in the posted article. At 16 pages it's a quick read.

Apparently we now possibly have "aliens without lawful immigration status", among other things, crossing into the US from Canada and starting fires in the Mount Baker Wilderness, Stephen Mather Wilderness, Pasayten Wilderness and the Salmo-Priest Wilderness.

I had no idea...
Bad News...The fog is getting thicker...
And Leon's getting laaaaargerrrrrr...

They just released a podcast about this.

The politicians want to take all public federal lands within 100 miles of the US/Canada border & US/Mexico borders. Put that land in DHS hands, add surveillance anywhere the please, and turn any road/trail they want into a developed road. ALL FEDERAL LANDS WITH IN 100 MILES OF US BORDERS. That would be all federal land between Wenatchee and the US/Canada border.

Will help with search and rescue efforts according to politicians

Horse puckey.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I doubt people trashing and setting the woods on fire is the fault of illegal aliens alone, many such cases being losers born on US soil.

Sen Lee is just using the hotly debated topic around illegal immigration to attempt another land grab. Whatever trigger words that gets his supporters and like minded people over this single issue hot and bothered.

Sen Lee is the worst.  Neither party really has the hearts of common Americans in mind.  A lot of Rs like Lee want to sell everything out to the rich.  "Public land" is just another name for communism in their mind. So pick your poison.

 :yeah:

It sure isn't illegal aliens that are trashing the Capitol Forest every year!  :bash:
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

Hey moderators - Why was the post removed from this topic that said Mike Lee is a Mormon?

I just noticed that as well.
Nothing but the facts.
I don’t think that warrants censorship by the forum…
Any official explanation?
