i used to have a german shorthair and an all white jack russel.  the german shorthair made for some cool pictures in the snow and the jack russel if he was holding still you had to pick him out by his eyes or not at all if the snow was more than a foot deep.

Here she is on point!  She has been a chukar hunting machine since she was 5 months old.  She is a Deutsch Drahthaar, Cassandra vom Orion.  You are right, she does blend into the sage, but she holds her birds well. 


I usually hunt her with one of my other two DD's, on Saturday it was just Cass and me.  She is actually a lot darker than she looks in the picture, but I am using a new camera and messed up the exposure.  I also was in a hurry to shoot the birds she was holding.

she's a beauty. my neighbor has a new GWP pup. he is a handful!
i wasn't sure if it was a DD or a GWP. not sure how to tell, but either way she's a beauty. my next dog for sure.
