Dman:
Most private timberland's have been "no target shooting" land's for year's, what the DFW did is actually playing catch up with other hunting land owner's. I do think it's a perfect example of why we need a State hunting protection Bill, so "changing times" won't dictate if we get to hunt or not, depending on if a nut-job takes the highest State post. I do think section two leaves the door open a bit wide for firearm's restrictions. I agree with the 500' campground buffer, that's common sense.

smdave:
I visit other gun related websites and this change is not specific to WA, I here the same thing is going on in atleast NC and NY.

NC went even further "unauthorized use of a firearm on public game lands outside of hunting season" and "possession of a firearm larger than .22 cal and with a bbl length of above maximum length of 7.5" outside of hunting season". are in the new law.

In Wisconsin it is illegal to walk your unleashed dog "on DNR lands from April 15 through July 31"

We as hunters will always be blamed for the trash in the woods and it is wrong I have never thought about dumping my old washer dryer refridgerator tv couch car truck, we all know that this is not done by the hunters.

smdave-you be being sarcastic, with all the bullet holes in all the signs, and garbage left in areas where elk camps were left, or fire circles in areas where open fires are not allowed, or hell, all the cigarette  butts left along ANY trail a smoker walks along (massive pet peve of mine!).

If everything you write is true, the writing is on the wall for those to see where gun ownership is going.

smdave:
Not being sarcastic, I never said any thing about bullet holes in signs or trash out in the woods, I always say and you can ask anyone I have hunted with you carried it in take it out. an empty can or snack wrapper weighs less coming out then it did going in. and I do not nor have I ever shot a sign. I am a none smoker and hate when a butt is thrown anywhere not just in the woods.

I do not agree with the dumping of trash at the end of the road or shooting it up just because it is there, I take my targets with me and take them home.

But what needs to happen is crack down on the trash dumpers not the ones out for target practice. We as hunters target shooters, get blamed for that trash because we are the ones in the woods that people see.

You are right the writing is on the wall and we all better wake up and do what we can before we loose all our gun rights.

I totally agree. Somehow more trash dumpers need to get busted. Maybe some good press where a target shooter turns in trash dumpers..... I have thought that maybe hunting organizations could hide some trail cams or video at popular trash dumping sites, get some plates, and let law enforcement do their work.
