The one thing that will always be cool about yours, Brian is it is the first Ram taken on the butte. Going along on mine stands out with Me, Have a great day.

I think it will change again this year. 8)

I see Casey Brooks on this list.  I think he had a whole slug of Boone & Crocket and Pope & Young awards under his belt.
Cut em!

Aaron Roth's CA bighorn from the Swakane unit (Chelan County) rifle 2010 was reportedly a World Record. Seems like his ram would be the State Record as well.  The ram taken this year from the Swakane is nearly as big.  Here are photos of Aaron's ram.

What is your definition of "nearly"?

Those records posted are from the Northwest Big Game Record Book that is at the Puyallup Sportsmen's Show every winter. If it's not measured and recorded there it won't be in their book. I'm sure there are bigger and better out there than what's listed in their books but that's what they go by. It's a lot easier and cheaper to get it in the NW book than the Boone and Crockett. I put my bear in there but I don't think I'll put it in B&C just because of all the hoops you have to jump through and the extra money. By the way, I think the NW Big Game Book is represented at most of the sportsmen shows around the NW. I think they cover CA, Ore, Id, and WA.

I think Aarons record will hold in Washington forever.  Unless for some reason they close a unit down again for several years.   Every ram that is even potentially as big is accounted for and tagged in short order.

B&C and P&Y do not recognize Cali Sheep as a seperate species is why, only SCI and individual states do.

I agree.

I doubt that record will ever be broken in Wa.
