I am Looking to get into a club or lease
« on: May 26, 2010, 10:00:24 PM »
I live in Snohomish County and looking to get into a club or help lease some land.  Anyone know some areas out there.

Thanks
Seaduck

How about a huntWa public land crusade? Clubs are pricey at best and leases always have hidden fees and problems in my opinion.

There has already been a Hunt Wa club for MT.

There are a few clubs that up HWY 2 towards Monroe.  Knock on a few doors and you may get the info you need.  You better save about $2k in order to start talking.  $5k will get you a better spot.

I like these guys. I haven't hunted all of their land, but I know they put good effort into not only aquiring good land for members, but in maintaining and improving the land as well.

I still don't like them.  They leased one of my spots out from under me a month ago.  The owners offered me it again first, but I wasn't going to go from $5k a season to $10k.  They are paying the farmers up hear big dollars to tie up the good fields.  It is making it tuff to hunt.

H2O,
Sorry to hear that. That really sucks. It is like that out here on the peninsula and it really sucks if you want a spot for puddles.

yeah that would be frustrating. At $5k/year though, you're almost at the monthly payments of buying a chunk of land somewhere. I've seen some nice plots in the Moses area for cheap. Although, having one close to home would obviously be more convenient.

You could become a member for only $3k now though, depending on how you look at it, and save money...

Clubs like that seem to really take out the small guys out to enjoy it. It's sad that it has happened this way but what are we to expect when you are looking at that kind of money. In a way these kind of actions drive up costs all the way around for everyone.

I agree.  All the farms that you could knock on a door and hunt are now all leased or dont allow hunting.  I still hunt a lot out of a boat but there is times where it would be nice to go and not worry about a tide or having the guys set up 60 yds from you.  It just has gotten so bad watching the skybusters.  The best part is watching the ducks work and commit.

that IS the best part. Last year I remember watching some birds circle the decoys of the guys next to us (probably about 100 - 150 yards away). The birds got real serious and started coming in closer and closer, i figured they were just about to make their last circle and land, and these guys start blasting them WAY out of range, LOL. we couldn't figure out what they were doing. Only reason it frustrated us though was becuase we were hoping they'd be more patient, get their limit, and leave.  :chuckle:
