Need to upgrade.
Bscman:
Here's the scenario.
You're a young, abitious guy who desperately needs a new (compound) bow.
You mostly hunt deer, but plan to get a blackbear....maybe an elk.
Looking for a 60-70# draw weight, 29" draw
Looking to spend $450ish max on a new BARE bow.
Let-off not so important...you shoot with a release.
You're upgrading from a PSE Nova that was $189 equipped (several years ago). It's taken several deer...but is slow, cheap, and you've got it maxed out at 61lbs.
You're not looking for the fastest bow out there, but a good/reliable/forgiving bow that'll have a little more power and will serve well as a HUNTING bow.
What bows are of interest to you?
rougheye:
I have been archery hunting for about 15 years.I just bought a new bowtech tribute last year and it is amazing how well it shoots compared to the crap i used to own.Once you shoot one you will never go back.
Coasthunterjay:
Martin Scepter elite.......
But honestly most bows out there these days are very comparable to eachother. search craigs or ebay and you will be amazed as to what you will find........martin is just my choice but there are alot of good bows out there, like bowtec, mathews, hoyt, pse.......all are good.
DeKuma:
There is a bowtech in the classifieds. MAybe he will work with you.
I am looking to sell my Hoyt, bare, for $200, but it is only 50-60#...........
coonhound:
Before I bought my Mathews I had my heart set on the Diamond Liberty, of course I fell to peer pressure and picked up the Mathews. I still think I actually liked the Liberty better.
Mountain archery is closing out last years model, a little higher than you were looking to spend but worth a look. http://www.mountain-archery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=245
