Peaches Ridge Help Needed
« on: November 02, 2010, 12:15:50 PM »
My buddy's father in laws's camp has a branched tag that they are struggling with.  Having trouble even seeing an elk I guess.  Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.  They are hunting the eastern side of 346.  Anything with horns would suffice at this point.  I am out of ideas.  Thanks in advance all.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Not sure about east. Have you ever tried the western side of 346 closer to Gov't Meadows/Naches Pass trail? I've heard of elk passing through there but never scouted it out myself. I too am from the Maple Valley area so so it's within driving distance if you leave the morning of your hunt (take FS RD70 to the very end I believe).
Take up your bow, a quiver full of arrows, head out to the country and hunt some wild game.  GEN 27:3

Get a hold of Norsepeak with Chinook pass outfitters.

He is a good guide and they have very resonable rates for one or two day hunts.

I think that is Rugged Class Outfitters for Norsepeak?

Your right, but i believe they work under Chinook pass's guide lic.  :dunno:
Ty can correct me if i am wrong.

Chinook Pass outfitters do the packing in to the high country with horses and Rugged Class does the hunting Guides.

I just talked to a wife who's husband and dad are hunting for spike up on Bald Mtn. All they are seeing are big bulls. The first couple of days they were fogged in. When the fogged finally cleared they saw bulls. Just thought I would pass this on. Good luck.

I know the unit very well. Killed a 336 bull and successfully helped others in the unit before. Spent all last week and only saw one bull. Never have hunted in rifle. I'm a bow hunter. Not sure what the big changes are in a month, but I will never encourage anyone to put in for that rifle hunt. My brother is back up there and hopefully he proves me wrong. One guy told me that these elk are all programmed to head for the feeding stations once the snow flies. Well the snow flew and I heard there were elk seen headed toward Oak Creek.
I'm stumped! You know if there were a bunch more guys in there during bow season it may have pressured the elk  :dunno: :dunno:

The bulls are there just gotta know where to look. We are Rugged class outfitters,a division of Chinook pass outfitters.  So far we are 7 for 7 this season, with one more tag to go.

7 for 7 for the year? or 7 for 7 for Peaches Ridge Oct 24-Nov hunt? I know you guys were successful during the archery and rifle rut. I'm also 100% for shots during these times. That's my point.

Brother has the Any Bull tag also. We put 50 miles on our boots this week and we have seen squat out hiking. But bulls on the road driving out... I guess i see why there are so many road hunters over there... It Sucks. Still looking for that any bull...

:yeah:
I'm recovering from an achilles surgery and put some miles in and saw nothing but cows and more cows. The bull we saw was on the side of the road and my brother didn't bale out quick enough.
