Climb up for chukar, there are some large golden grassy areas up top nearer to durr road that can produce huns. Walk the creek for quail.

Personally, the area is pretty decent early in the year, but the birds get worked every single weekend, so they get skittish/run/bust early the later the year gets.

They used to release pheasants off durr rd on the creek side closest to ellensburg. I dont think they do anymore, but i have gotten pheasants in the creek area with coyote ridge tags years ago.

Look at the online platt maps of kittitas and yakima counties. There are brushy draws on public land you can walk in for quail.

You dont have to go in at the bridge either. You can drive in on durr road. It will take you down into the creek area as well.

If you need more specific info pm.

Ive flushed chukar up in there on the tops and have seen the occasional quail. Ive had more luck flushing birds when I got off of the main trail. If you stay down on the bottom trail watch out for hikers.

It does get a lot of pressure in there, though
