I moved up to the Olympic peninsula from Oregon last year, got my license and did OK fishing from the shore, re-learning and getting more experience as it had been some years since I had done much fishing.

Now I've renewed my license but can't quite afford a boat that will get me on anything but a pretty calm lake. A friend gifted me an 8' boat so I can at least row around lake Leland and such.

If anybody has an empty seat to get out on some bigger water, I would be hugely grateful for an opportunity any day of the week and happy to subsidize food, fuel, etc. costs that day.

I'll definitely make sure to pay it forward (hopefully this fall) when I get a boat that can handle it and take some other folks out.

Thanks in advance!

I have an open seat for the second Neah Bay opener.

Here's the deal, the rest of my crew can't get out until Friday afternoon, so I'm running solo on Thursday and Friday. I've also got extra room in the condo we've rented directly across the street from the marina.

So, fishing Thursday and Friday and a room Thursday night. PM for additional details etc...

Hey guys,
I've lived on the west side for 8 years now and still haven't managed to make it out for any halibut or ling fishing, except for one charter which was a bust.  If anyone has an open seat I have gas money and can bring lunch for the boat.  I live in Mount Vernon but can travel if necessary.
Thanks!

Just got this notice - closed tomorrow in Neah Bay, not sure where you are going.

WDFW NEWS RELEASE

Halibut fishing off Neah Bay, La Push
to close May 21, will re-open May 23

OLYMPIA - Halibut fishing will be closed tomorrow (May 21) off the state's north coast but will re-open for a final day of fishing on May 23, Washington fishery managers announced today.

Anglers are expected to reach the 108,030-pound halibut quota in marine areas 3 (La Push) and 4 (Neah Bay) after one more day of fishing, said Heather Reed, coastal policy coordinator for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW).

Those marine areas had been scheduled to be open for halibut fishing Thursday, when the weather is forecast to be marginal. Department staff consulted with sport fishing representatives and agreed to hold the final day of halibut fishing on Saturday, when weather is expected to improve, Reed said.

"We apologize for the short notice," Reed said. "We typically like to give more warning of a closure. But we want to give anglers a good chance to catch a halibut and we believe the better opportunity to do so will be on Saturday."

In all marine areas open to halibut fishing, there is a one-fish daily catch limit and no minimum size restriction. Anglers may possess a maximum of two fish in any form and must record their catch on a WDFW catch record card.

If someone was already at Neah Bay and couldn't fish MA 4, it's not a real long boat ride to MA 5.  Could head there, fish the mouth of the Hoko river or something.

Looking for someone to fish Riffe Lake with. I had plans to fish evening Monday, all day Tuesday and Wednesday. but the guy never answered his phone or called back. I charge my oil, packed the truck and picked up gear.  :bash:  So I was thinking of leaving tomorrow around 7am and fish the evening and either camp or get a motel for the night. Then fish Wednesday to. Does anyone want to go?  PM me ASAP  tonight before 10pm. I will check it around 10pm. I will also look at my email in the morning before I leave. Well I must finish packing.
