That discussion is over (ie, the posts have been deleted). This thread is for wolf sightings, not for wolf debates or any other kind of debate.

....our findings were suggesting that Wolfhaven in Olympia has been releasing them in various places in the Cascades like they are God or something.

I do not doubt that they do.

The same standard should apply to posts like this, where specious and irresponsible accusations are made

Agreed.

I am skeptical of them myself, but the post probably should suggest it as a suspition not as a finding....  :chuckle:

My dad was sitting on a knoll glassing when something caught his naked eye. Across the canyon from him walking into a small treed patch. He brought up the spotting scope and to his amazement it was a grey wolf. He was absolutely sure it was a wolf after we were able to look over the two in Idaho a couple weeks ago. 2 others in our group were up canyon from him and they said they found wolf tracks going down a trail they were walking.

Where were you guys at? We were up on Sweet Grass Butte, on the road that runs north of the tower and dead ends in a older clear cut when we spotted the one this year. We also seen wolf tracks up by the Goat Peak Lookout parking lot.

Bearpaw & Jackelope,
I will abide. It is only hearsay regarding Wolfhaven releasing in the Cascades.
Nevertheless, I hope you will tally my sighting.

10-17-11 heard one howling in south gmu121.  It worked it way down untill it was 30 yards away from me, got to see it pretty good, it was grey with some black on its back and tail. I moved to look threw the brush and it heard or saw me and it started running in my direction, so i made my retreat to the truck! Couple minutes later i heard it again 50 yards from where i saw it so i went back to try to get a pic, didnt get video of him\her but got some audio of him howling on my phone. He continued to howl his way up another ridge, heard him howl 15-20 times.

Thanks for posting your info and for sending me the audio, that definitely sounds like a wolf. Thanks for reporting the incident.

I didn't have time to try and post it yet, not sure what it will take to post it, but will try as soon as I get time.

We seen one last wednesday october 19th in unit 178 off of Rickman Gulch Rd.  It was about 10 a.m. my wife, and I were glassing some CRP on a landowners property we hunt.  We noticed something big, and black running out of a stubble field into the CRP I looked through my spotter to my suprise it was a wolf we watched him cross out of the tall grass back into somemore stubble then dissapear over the horizon.  This was not a coyote we see tons of coyotes over there, and this wolf was easily 90-100 lbs big enough that I wouldnt let me kids hunt that area withough me sitting next to them the rest of the week.  Several of the locals say there are quite a few around there, and they are not an uncommon sight anymore.  We need a management plan asap.
