Found and confirmed wolf tracks today in the 346 near a geological feature.

I know what wolf tracks look like as they are around where I frequent in Idaho. I confirmed what I saw by sending a picture to a buddy who's going to school to finish his masters in wildlife biology.

This morning my hunting buddy and I went to start working over the local coyotes. The first clear-cut we drove into in the fog he says what you going to do with that. Standing in the road about 50 feet in front of the truck is a large Black wolf. As I fumble for a camera he trots off into the brush. I bail out to try to get a photo and he goes the other way as I go around the back of the truck.
Buddy asked me what I was doing told him I'm getting a photo. Points out that I was unarmed. This is the same area I have spotted a large Black wolf several years ago and only about a mile and a half from that. Perhaps a surviving member of the wedge pack.  :dunno:

I was in Elbe Hills (gmu 654) friday drove up through the snow and found what looked like wolf tracks walking along the road. They were bout the size of a cougar tracks and they went in and out of the woods

No surprise, but 4 sets of tracks through fresh snow in unit 328. Moved all my bulls off their ridge!! ☹️🤦🏻‍♀️
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

I think there are more surviving wolves in the wedge than wdfw knows or claim to know about.

After they "removed" the wedge pack a few years back I went up and found some tracks, sent the pics in to WDFW and location just in case they wanted to finish the job (they didn't)

Seen a wolf today in GMU 121, had a good look, definitely wolf, light gray, large framed wolf, but pretty skinny looking, losing his winter fur, almost got a photo before he went out of sight. No collar.

Friends have seen wolves many times in the Colville Valley on the 121 side. We think WDFW knows they are there, several times a helicopter has showed up after the wolves were seen.

Coming out of Teanaway forest on Sunday, almost hit a dark colored wolf in my wife's Sequoia, had to slam on the brakes.   My wife and kids were impressed by the size.   It had a black tracking collar around it's neck, disappeared as fast as it showed up....

This morning I was going to go drowned some worms! There was a lone wolf in the pasture with Judy's Herford's. Was close to a calf and then ran to the timber line and just stood there.

A black wolf crossing the Lake Cavanaugh Rd above Finn Settlement has been reported. No pictures. Not terribly far from Darrington where a pack is confirmed.

When was a pack confirmed in Darrington?
