A black wolf crossing the Lake Cavanaugh Rd above Finn Settlement has been reported. No pictures. Not terribly far from Darrington where a pack is confirmed.

When was a pack confirmed in Darrington?
I'm sorry I got that wrong...there is no confirmed pack near Darrington, however I've heard they are trying to confirm one there.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Here are 2 sources of why i mistakenly thought they had a documented pack.

All of the other packs have those blue circles so that is why I remembered the details wrong...

I talk to a couple of muzzleloader hunters this afternoon on the S. Summit, I ask him how he was doing he said not too well he hadn't even seen a doe, he did say he watched 8 wolves go through and opening less than 50 yards from where he was set up. He said possible nine, he wasn't sure if he had counted one of them twice.

The second hunter we talk to said they he had seen two 2x2's and one wolf that went by his stand at about a hundred yards out, said it was the first time he was actually a bit scared of a wolf, he said it was huge.

He hadn't heard about the wolf attack this summer so I told him all about it.

He said he had nine rounds on his hip and one in the muzzleloader if the wolf wanted to make an issue.

I did see wolf scat off Jackman creek. I'm fairly certain.
I'm not sure.

They have Skagit on the map but I haven’t heard if it’s identified as a pack, breeding pair or how many wolves are in there.

Heard wolves in GMU215 this Oct.  A party member saw a dark, almost black one, at close range.  Based on our interactions there is a decent sized pack running around that area.....  Sad....

There were NOT coyotes, and I if it helps I lived in Alaska for over a decade so I have seen and heard wolves before....

My cousin and I spotted 2 wolves while out scouting some property south of Davenport for late muzzy. Subsequently saw no whitetails, there is usually a heard of 15-20 does running around the property. Saw some mule deer but not nearly as many as usual.
