September 2018. Two wolves spotted at 50 yards or so. GPS Coordinates: 46.913144, -121.153578 GMU 352
Large Blackish one and Gray/Brown/Black mix colored one.

Never heard of or seen a grey / brown / black mix wolf.  Sounds like a domestic dog to me.

Poor description on my part then, it was in dark timber so it was probably white/tan/black ish. Looked like this guy, running with a blackish one. Definitely not a domestic dog.

Wolf sightings are so commonplace every week in NE WA that I quit posting about them in this topic. I did hear today about wolves being in a horse pasture with some horses, cows have been the wolves main focus, fortunately they didn't go after the horses, but it seems like they typically watch new types of prey quite a lot before they take on something new, I fear it will only be a matter of time until the horse owner has problems.

Almost forgot to mention, this was unit 121 in the Colville Valley, the same wolves that have been watching cattle in the same area, it's just a matter of time with these wolves!

I know this is like urinating into the wind!! All I accomplish is getting my knees wet! On 9/23/19 the dawg was looking for work and she and I made a recon run in 105. Grouse were pretty slim pickings but on the way back to the house we had a large canine standing off the road and just watched us. It didn't seem to be scared. It just strolled into the timber.

Once again i got to enjoy being serenaded (sp?) by the stranger pack last night.  Stepped outside to take a leak at 9:30pm and heared them howling maybe 300 yards from my house.  Went on sporadically until 10:20pm.

All the granola types protect wolves because they "would love to hear wolves howl someday."

When its right in your back yard and you have to worry about pets safety, or the neighbor kids who are no more than 100 yards from the howling pack, its not so romantic anymore.  The helicopters chasing them around your neighborhood, right over your roof, shooting noise makers that sound like shotguns, thats not so romantic either.  But the idiots in their studio apartments in seattle dont consider these things.

Ya, read that too.

People aren't going to shoot the wolves because:

1) they're afraid they'll get in trouble if they do
2) don't have a gun
3) don't have a gun handy when they need it
4) couldn't hit anything anyways
5) not home when the wolves come eat their pets

in any case, I don't expect that *most* people will "handle" the situation even when they're fully justified to do so.

Pretty much sums it up.  Anybody living here needs a loaded long gun ready to rock at home at all times, and at least a sidearm on them when theyre out and about.  Have them available, learn to use them, and dont be afraid to use them.  Dont be a grass eater.  Sharpen your teeth.
