Sunday the 17th I saw 3 wolves trotting down the middle of the road on the Twisp Calton rd, about 3 miles out of Twisp, 8:30 in the morning, they went off on the river side.

How things have changed in the last 30 years, we went from seeing hundreds of deer in the winter to practically none, unless we go to town.

I was hunting coyotes in the Sinlehekin on February 28th when I heard a pack of wolves howling.  I went and got my camera and managed to photograph one of them at about 350 yards away.  This pack is near Forde Lake at the base of the Sinlehekin wall.

He might have a collar, Did you happen to notice?

Nice capture. Looks like there’s a collar on it. I seen a couple set of tracks around Fish lake last November.

Nice capture! I was hiking through that exact area a week and a half ago and didn’t cross any sign of them at that time.
Just tend your own and live.

I couldn't tell.  I ended up taking about 20 photos and there was no visible sign of a collar but it was pretty far away.

Been a few weeks ago but a guy showed me a 30 second video clip from a trail cam on his property just before the NF border up skyline out of Dayton. 7 wolves in a 30 sec video. Were there more not on the cam?? How many are there in the Blues??

It is spring, what ever it is it will probably double in the next few weeks.  The number is really silly to spend money on as WDFW does, the area is tied to 10,000's of thousands of square miles of wild country that wolves freely, Oregon and Washington portion, move through.  The little shaded blobs the State shows does not impede movement and they do move a bunch.

The WDFW is spending the outdoorsman/taxpayers money.... don't ever forget that.

Saw my first one not in a pen during the turkey opener.  Single grey wolf came loping across the burn scar/cut about 3/4 mile up slide creek road off of Old Hwy 12 Mile rd in 117.  This is adjacent to 395 on the way to Arden.  Phone was in the turkey vest in the bed.

On my way back from Idaho (with a wolf tag unnotched) I saw one dart across highway 26 east of Washtuccna. I wonder if he and his buddies are going to hit the cattle in the field he left.

-47.20297, -120.38558
-6/5/21, 3:08pm
-Naneum Ridge, crossing Coleman Rd at power lines
-1 wolf
-light lower color, gray/black on top. 50yd encounter, did not have time to snap a photo. Witnessed the wolf cross for 30sec to a minute. Had seen a coyote the previous day, this was a clear contrast. First time making a report so did not think to grab photos of tracks. had heard wolf howls previous night in Naneum basin.

Report has been submitted to WDFW.
