Very sorry to hear, does anyone know where Longmire Ranger Station is at?

Hope the ranger survives OK.

Bearpaw, Longmire is up out of Elbe.  The shooting occurred just out of Elbe off Skate Creek Rd.  Actually not in the park.

Our Cabin is right off of Skate Creek Rd. and we hunt that area all the time. Very sorry to hear about the ranger.

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK, Wash. —The Pierce County Sheriff's office says a U.S. Forest Service ranger was shot Sunday morning at Mount Rainier National Park.

Officials closed the park after the shooting Sunday, and asked people to stay out of the area while they search for a man carrying a long rifle.

The News Tribune reports the shooting happened just before 11 a.m. near the Longmire Ranger Station.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Ed Troyer says the Washington State Patrol and the Pierce County Sheriff's office are working together on this investigation.

Other details were not immediately available.
