Kamp-Rite Double Kwik-Cot
« on: January 15, 2012, 02:22:42 PM »
Anyone have this product.

Wife and I tent camp together so there is no broke back mountain.  This looks like something we might be interested in so we are looking for experiences.  If you have this what are your thoughts?

I have a single.  I do like it.  A little on the small side.   Overall it makes a quick and simple camp.   One thing I would suggest with the double is make sure it fits in your vehicle.   I spent the whole archery season in mine with few complaints.  I will list some down sides but, overall I like mine  a lot and find it very useful.  I do wish I bought the double but, I drive a jeep and it would not fit inside.  I often just leave my bag inside when going from one camp to another.
The padding sucks so get a good mattress or sleeping pad.
I am short and it is a little on the low side for me.  Suggest a tarp or something when using in inclement weather.
It is simple to set up but, at times it can be a little frustrating.  Practice at home unless you want to give some people a good laugh.
It can be a little unnerving when you have a bear sniffing around the outside.  Some of my hunting buddies call it the twinky shack.  Something about a bear being able to get at the soft filling very easy.

If you and your wife like to make a quick simple camp I say go for it.  It is much more comfortable than the ground.
