I would love to draw peaches ridge again.  I drew it in 04 and shot a little rag horn opening morning.  I was young then and had no self control I already had it set in my mind I was shooting the first elk that would let me.  I also drew goose prairie in 09 shot a cow on the 3rd day only 11 yards away.  I have no self control when it comes to elk and filling my freezer.

I hear ya D-rock. I can pass a lot of great bucks but when it comes to elk. I cant help but feel the freezer! I drew a rimrock bull tag and shot a yearling cow on the 2nd day. My buddy thought I was crazy tell he got some back straps :chuckle: If I can draw a good tag again I will try my hardest to hold out for a bull. In my neck of the woods we don't have many elk so the pickings are a little poor. So when I get into elk I can't help it

Yeah, except with Peaches Ridge you'll be hunting with hundreds of other guys with general season tags looking for a spike or a cow. It used to be with that permit you'd have it all to yourself, since there was no general season. Well that changed a couple years ago. So you might want to consider that. I think somebody else mentioned that as well. I don't know about the hunting pressure in the other three, as I have never hunted those.

I had the 09 Bumping also.. except I was holding out for my big bull... passed on a few raghorns and lots of cows... Had I not seen a bunch of big bulls scouting maybe I would have stuck one of the lesser bulls... oh well ate the tag trying for a wall hanger.  Meat in the freezer would have been better.

To the original poster, Peaches Ridge should be way down on everyones list, now that the general hunt is in there at the same time... bulls shut up real quick over the last few years....

the unit you know like the back of you hand....or better.

I hear and have known successful draws by hunters that ate tag soup; simply because the unit they drew, they did not know the drawn unit well enough to be successful.

I don't know any of the units that are draw units, just wanting to hunt some new country that has some big bulls in it, if i don't kill one at least i get to experience the new country. killing would be a added bonus. I have all ways been blessed when it comes to finding good animals, so i'm just looking for the opportunity and the experience.

:yeah:And it will be much easier to draw the peaches than it will any tags in the blues.  Getting in the back country in the peaches unit is much easier as well and like coach said you won't have much pressure back there except for a couple guys being guided. Yes I'm trying to steer you away from the blues but honestly, it's much easier to draw the peaches tag and you can find some huge bulls in the back country with better access.

I have 9 points for the archery draw this year and I have very low expectations for drawing.  8 straight years does that to you...  I haven't been applying to the blues either.  Anxiously waiting the decision for the next 3 year plan.

I have 12 points for the Blues, and I am not making any plans.... :dunno:
