Cascade:
Has there been any info on the estimated number of wolves in the teanaway?  I have been up looking for a bull the last few days and can't believe the amount of wolf tracks I have seen.   There were a bunch low on the middle fork, and at least 7 on Musser creek that went from the top to just above the private ground.

danderson:
I was up there hunting during  early muzzeloader and had an encounter with what sounded like all  hell breaking loose, a bunch of wolfs started  houling about 100 yards from were I had set up a ground blind, sounded like at least 8 or 9 different wolfs going off for about 30 seconds then silence, I had set up in a remote bottom far away from any roads hunting deer, I thought it was a little odd that there wasent many deer in the area a small elk herd with a few bulls bugleing was in the area, they busted out of the bottom when the wolfs started houling, deer numbers are way down up there and only thing I could figure out was they had targeted the elk herd and they got busted of mabe they had a kill and were letting me know to stay clear, eather way it was one of those im getting out of here feelings.

Cascade:
Every deer we saw blew the country.  They were very nervous.  Here are a couple cell phone pics.

As we followed the wolf tracks it was amazing to watch a single wolf break out of line and follow each deer/elk track they crossed.  Checking to see if it was fresh enough to follow, if it wasn't the wolf was back in line with the others within 50 yards checking for fresher sign.  Lots of wolves in this country.  We saw sign from one end of the unit to the other in just over a 3 day span.

Its crazy how many of them there are.  I wish the Yaks would start hunting them.  I have a feeling PlatInd and I would be having fun right about now.
