kramman:
was out looking at a 2003 fordf250 and the salesmen walks up and we get talking and he states that i should stay away from the 2003 and early production 04 because of problems with the 6.0 diesel that was just introduced that year and he pointed me to a 2004.anyone heard of these problems with the 03 6.0 or was he blowing smoke up my yaewho?i did not end up buying either vehicle thanks kram

kirkl:
I have a cummins but i know the early 6.0 powerstrokes had problems.

jeepasaurusrex:
They have powdered metal rods in the engine that do not like HP/Torque and they have had head gasket issues.  I prefer my older 7.3L powered F350 :IBCOOL:

wackmaster:

+1!
You can't beat the 7.3!  Mine is a 97 and the only thing that I have go bad was the alternator.  I know too many people who have had a lot of problems with the 6.0.  One of my hunting buddies got rid of his after replacing the injectors for the third time, the glow plugs, cam sensor etc.  Like Wackmaster said, you will regret it.  On the other hand, it still beats owning a DuraMax!   ;)
