Wea300mag:
I was surprised by the number of permits (especially to the indians) given out. Given that these animals are almost pets, the herd bulls are going to be decimated.

Bearhunter:
I went out twice this weekend with Eldon, the last guy left with an archery tag in his pocket.  Saturday we called a 7x6 in to 40 yards, and watched him tear up alders for about 10minutes, ripping bugles the whole time, got it all on video, we were there at 40 yards for so long that he finally winded us and came closer but was to thick thin turned around and walked up into the meadow we went up after him got to 80 yards broadside and just stood there looking at us.  Got some great footage of him, just couldnt close the deal.  Sunday morning we chased a bull all over, he was screaming the whole time we were cow calling, but he just keep moving away I believe he had cows and didnt want us to take them from him.  Some day I will load some clips up on here, it will be after elk season closes though.  I got pictures of the 8x9 I will post today though.  Boy was it ever fun up there I would give anything to have that tag in my pocket.  We shot 4 grouse Sunday up there and seen a bunch of deer.
