Stone Glacier packs

Crunchy:
I thought I would pass on some info if anyone was in the market for a new pack.  I borrowed a pack for a 6 day back country hunt I did last year.  Weight we packed in was about 55-65lbs 5-6 miles deep.  Pack I used was the Sky Guide 7900 with the Krux frame.  All I can say from personal experience is that it is the most comfortable pack I have ever used.  Obviously whatever they do with the frame, belt and shoulder straps is where the magic is.  I am no expert on that but it was so nice I bought one this year.  In bivy mode it shrinks down to 4500cu.  Anyway, thought I would pass it along for anyone thinking about buying a new pack I would highly recommend giving Stone Glacier a look.

I’ve got a 5900 series and can vouch for what you’re saying. Extremely comfortable pack and they do well with heavier weights(100+).

Need to buy the wife a pack and was thinking about stone glacier, how busy is that pack?  What I mean is, are there straps every 4'' like the kuiu?  My kuiu 7000 is versatile but almost too much. I'm leaning towards a more simple pack without 500 adjustments.

greenhead_killer:
They aren’t horrible in the busy dept. there are enough clips and straps to keep you busy, but not something I ever think about. There is a shop in cashmere that makes a scabbard for the stone glaciers. My buddy has one and can one hand remove the rifle without taking the pack off. Pretty nice feature that I’ll have to get sooner than later. Hands free is always nice!

You should look at the EXO packs. They make a version for women and kids. My wife has one of them.
