Knocker of rocks:
I’ve heard of some private hunts in Montana and Wyoming, so the tribe probably had a good idea of where they could start.

One price I heard of was $4,500 in 2016, so $5K maths out

They’ll get it. I don’t know if many of you are familiar with online auctions but they don’t really take off until the final few hours of the auction. They really get going in extended bidding. We’ve had auctions were selling show goats in got for 3 hours past the end time because of extended bidding.

I recall checking out a ranch that promoted buffalo "hunting".  Started around $6k and went up.  Smaller animals less money than bigger animals.  Young bulls or cows the best tablefare. You were buying the meat to shoot.

Buffalo Hunts
Size             Price

Yearling...........$3700
Cow................$5000
2 Year Bull.......$5800
3 Year Bull.......$7000
4-6 Year Bull....$8200
7+ Year Bull...$11000+
Older Bulls at times

So here's a price list from the site owner.  They are advertising a mature bull. I think that's a bull over 4 years old.

Just what do you think would be a fair price to shoot a mature bull?
BigredRusch:
Interesting idea. Fair price is whatever someone will pay. For this is much lower than $5000.

I would take my $5000 and buy a couple sides of quality beef cattle.

It’s about the food in the end for me.
