I mean pending the area your looking at its double or tripple the permits which is a significant factor in odds pending the hunter number shift but i cant imagine that being very signicant maybe 25% ?? It isnt like wa is attracting non res attention.... but your talking going from 1% odds to 2%...which is double on paper but in reality still isnt enough to have our point system work as intended ..it still a random shot for those in demand tags

I remember the proposal for some Hanford tags....those went MIA even with other groups able to hunt that land.

If it's for a quality tag it should be a week before general season opens... Not with general season...

He's talking about the bull permits, not quality permits.

--- Quote from: trophyhunt on February 11, 2026, 05:38:57 AM ---I'm not sure I've ever seen proposals change at all, seems like they stay with maybe a couple tags here or there but, I'd feel comfy that these numbers will stay.

I'd agree, looking at these for over 20 years they rarely make significant changes from these proposals.   In addition the commission is no longer approving these, they delegated it to the director starting last year I believe.

--- End quote ---

The only times I remember them changing was when there were significant late season winter kill and the year they discovered the magical mature bull disappearance in the Yakima area.

I am surprised by them moving the season a week later though. Does anyone know the reason behind the change?

Trying to make some money on resources, before they stop feeding them every winter..... 😂
That's my guess....
