TEN TIPS FOR GREAT FIELD PHOTOS - A strategy for taking quality success photos
mountainman1:
Great tips, a person is never to old for more tips to help a guy take better pics. It's good to see all of the good expertise that we have on this site. I learn something new on here every day. Keep up the good work your doing. Thank you!

Thanks for the great tips. There is no substitute for composing good images. I would just add, for the slightly more ambitious photographers out there, that PhotoShop can help significantly. One can take the red out of blood spatter/stain and remove modest amounts of "stray grass blades" that mar an otherwise fine photo, and without too much effort. PhotoShop Elements costs under $100 and is a remarkably effective tool, once you get the hang of it. There is a learning curve, of course.

Thanks for the kind words and it's great to have others pile on here with more tips and suggestions . I wrote this as a feature for the Pope & Young Newsletter.
Another one I forgot with regard to blood is simply turning your photo into a black & white or grayscale image. One click of the mouse and unsightly blood vanishes and results in a nice B/W photo - something you don't see much of anymore in our HD world. I love B/W images as much or more than full color, especially with hunting photos.

That was a good read Bow4Elk. Good tips and good friendly reminders for all. Thanks.

All very good pointers. These are helpfull reminders for even us veteran Photo takers.
Lots of good "Don't forget this cool tip" stuff.
I dig the tip about using Hand held pruners to set up the "Background". Good thinking, most people would never think about whats around the subject... let alone the subject it's self.
...lol... "Banana Clip for your shotgun"... what a great line!
I am totally using that one :chuckle:
