Unfortunately there are not enough wardens to be everywhere when we need them, they have too big of a territory to cover ...Thank our Gov. for that. The other thing is I have witnessed first hand that our wardens have to make a discion right in the field weather or not the case is worth the time and money to prosecute. I know it sounds retarded but I was told by Game officials that they get pressure from the judges in most cases that these people get off on little technicalities all the time and that the jury's feel sorry for most and they get off so don't clog their courts with cases that will just get thrown out, So if it is not a cut and dried case that will easily get prosecuted they will just ticket them for what they can! I know it sucks but again thank our Gov. I would follow up cause the guy was making a determination over the phone push to speak with the supervisor of that region and they can still pursue in this case. Good luck

I know we would all like more WDFW officers around, but blaming our governor or government (not sure which you were referring to) doesn't make any sense.  The current economy is the reason for all the cut backs...  After all, wardens, officers, sheriffs, etc, etc all prefer to be paid with $$$, and if the state doesnn't have it, no one is going to work for free.

Back to the OP, have you contacted anyone else?  Keep up updated please!

When our state has to pay for a tunnel in Seattle to replace the viaduct, that money has to come from somewhere. Most likely diverted from education, law enforcement, and programs that the states is mandated to fund. Heaven forbid if Seattle has to figure out how to pay for this tunnel on their own!!

We can blame the Governor and Legislature!  Sure, the economy sucks but the cuts the the WDFW started years ago when we were in a financial boom.  We can blame them for increasing spending by over 33% instead of 20% which could have kept us solvent.  We can blame them for cutting funding to Law enforcement agencies (WFDW included) instead of cutting crap programs for illegals, gay and lesbians, freeway sound barriers, arts projects, "green technology", a big bore tunnel, beautification projects and general govt. waste.  The state would have plenty of money for law enforcement and schools if they would cut the pork and pet projects even in this economy.
