I know we would all like more WDFW officers around, but blaming our governor or government (not sure which you were referring to) doesn't make any sense. The current economy is the reason for all the cut backs... After all, wardens, officers, sheriffs, etc, etc all prefer to be paid with $$$, and if the state doesn't have it, no one is going to work for free.
Back to the OP, have you contacted anyone else? Keep up updated please!

We can blame our Governor and legislator's. They have been cutting Fish and Wildlife for years, as well as diverting the funds they do have from enforcement, fish production and game management to non game species, wild fish enhancement. studies and research. There are currently more Bio's working for F&W than Enforcement Officers. Current cuts are going to Enforcement and Fish Hatchery's. From what I have heard they are not cutting non-game, bio's etc. I have heard so its hearsay but from a good source that a comment from our head of the F&W was "we don't want to be known as a bullet and hook department anymore." I think that one little statement shows more the direction we are seeing.
My father is retired F&W and my brother is currently F&W. I was the blacksheep and went into LE. I remember my father cussing the direction of the F&W for the last 10 years. Back in the day most of the persons working for them were Hunters and Fishermen, they have been slowly squeezed out and replaced with a "greener" staff that fits more in line with the ideologies of our last few governors. I have been seriously thinking of getting out of LE when I hit 20 years and moving to a state that is more interested in keeping the word GAME in there management plans.

tip:
Well this thread got off-topic real fast. My apologies to the OP for accidently starting a political debate - my fault.
To the other guys - I hear you and I'm not a fan of our governor either, but everyone has their own opinions. That is all - let's get this thread back on-topic.

IF he was hunting there illegally for a week, why werent the cops out there before hand? I am not defending him, just wondering.
If he's guilty, I hope he gets the full extent of punishment. Cant stand poachers.

All the wardens were down off Wildwood road in Boistfort if it was opening weekend. At least 10 anyway at a Check Point.
