Ray:
I've shot pacyew's cooper a few times. It's a fine shooting piece of machinery.
HighCountry10:
I own a 300WSM Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker.  This was not my first choice about four years ago (first year of the 300WSM cartridge) the Sako Finnlite was.  The reason I switched and bought the browning was because  I had a short list of definates that I wanted in a rifle; clip, under 7 lbs, and synthetic/stainless without glare (powder coating).  Characteristics that I felt were improtant in a mountain rifle.  If you don't care about these things the Steyr-Mannlicher is easily the most accurate rifle I have ever shot or watched someone shoot (heavy).  I believe you can get them for right around $900-$1100?  The browning at Hooked on Toys in Wenatchee was $720 or so back in 2003 or 2004.  I have a 4-12 Swarovski with SK mounts and bases on it and with 180 gr. Nosler Accubonds I can truly cut holes with it off the Caldwell lead sled while sighting in.  Took my 2006 permit buck this rifle at about 320 while he was trailing three does.  You can probably tell I have confidence in this setup, strongly reccommend it if your buying.
Intruder:
I'm assuming the 900 is for gun only?  You can build yourself a pretty decent custom for that based on just about any of the major actions.... 700 etc.

As High Country asked.... "what's imprortant to you?"  There are really tons a viable options 900 and under.
T-ROY:
900 is for the gun. weight wise anything in the mid to 7# range and maybe under. i'm not looking to get the snot kicked out of me every time i pull th trigger. did a little looking today. No remington sf in 300 wsm to had around here. 3 places were sold out until remington makes another run of them and i would sure like to look at the wood before i buy one. gun broker has a few of them. that boone and Crockett edition 700 with a cdl stock would be a dandy looking combo also if they would put it together. a sako would be close to 1500 out the door and ti  isn't even in the ball park as far as price goes.     Unless i have been looking in the places? i can see why they are selling those t3's like hot cakes, guns  have really gone up. its the only rifle i looked at for under 600$(blued walnut). let me know if you guys hear of any thing for sale out there. I'm seriously looking a for a new one.

only if portability is more important then velocity. shorter barrels are more accurate 99.9% of the time.
