Snake river
Fletch:
Has anybody fished the Snake river above lower Granite dam near WAWAWAI park?
jackelope:
I think i have but i'm not sure. i don't have all the landmarks straight over there. where's the park?
Fletch:
Apparently just below Pullman Ive never been there but am interested in giving it a try. What did you fish for and what did you catch?
jackelope:
around clarkston(lower granite lake), the river is full of smallmouth bass. you could truly go and catch 50 of them in a couple hours. finding the big ones is a bit of a challenge, but we always got a few in the 15" range. also good catfish and other panfish, and i've tried unsuccessfully to catch steelhead upstream around asotin. you might look into the spring salmon fishing, although i'm not sure of the time frame or if we will have that fishery this year. it can be good for spring chinook around the confluence of the snake/clearwater. thats pretty much where i've done all of my snake river fishing.
what kind of fishing are you looking to do?? if you want to drive a bit from pullman i could point you to a few places.
Fletch:
I do like to catch the cat fish and fast bass or pan fish is always fun. Since I will not have a ton of time I wouldnt want to drive more than an hour. Im from Moses Lake. I have fished the snake by lyons ferry so Im sure its not much different. Thanks in advance for any help.
