I had the rip cord on my '10 z7 and I could never really get it to shoot bullet holes through paper I now have the '12 helium and had the trophy taker on it wanted to switch to the rip cord or QUAD what is your opinion..... thanks
-
I think the ultra rest is better than the rip cord.
-
I like the qad better of the 2 you listed.
You might check out the Trophy Ridge Revolution. I switched to it this year as well as several other members on here. It is the best and easiest tuning drop away/spin away rest I have ever shot.

I nipped off about 3/16ths from the tops of the forks on two of my Ripcords.....had nearly unnoticable contact with faster setups. SLower bow is fine, but over 300fps, I had contact....not much, but it doesnt take much.

I have a QAD Ultrarest on my Z7 and it works fine. However, the problem that I'm having is that, in order to paper tune it, I had to move it as far right as it would go. The containment arm is resting against the riser and can't go any farther, so if I need to move it further to the right when broadhead tuning I might have a problem. I'm going to do that ASAP so that I can determine if I need a new rest now and have it dialed in before season.

Halflife take a look at your idler wheel and see if it is canted to one side or the other this may cause you to have your rest in further than it needs to be. If you can, run a straight edge along the idler wheel and comare it with the string this will show even a suttle angle.
Oh and my vote goes to QAD, you can let down from full draw without losing full containment.

Paper tune isnt the holy grail nor is a laser tool. I have a laser tool to set center shot and often times to get the arrow flight I am after, I have to tweak off DC as indicated with the laser. Both should be used as good starting points that dont always provide desired flight.
I agree, cam lean could/does cause center shot and flight problems.

I have the QAD on my z7 extreme and have no complaints.

Thanks Jbar - I'll try that when I get home tonight.

I have a QAD I'll sell ya... cheap....
My wife has a ripcord that works well, though her arrows are pretty slow. Like Carpsniper, I love my Revolution.
