Title: 740 woodmaster buttstock help
Post by: unluckyjohn on June 27, 2012, 12:19:31 PM
Looking for any help I can get. I have a 740 Woodmaster in 30-06 that now has a loose (hope not broken) buttstock.  It just seemed to get loose during hunting. Do I have to remove the recoil pad to remove and check stock or am I missing the easy fix/ check to this problem. Thank you for any help I can get, I really cant afford to take it in and get it looked at.

Remove the buttplate and use a long flathead screwdriver to get at the one that holds the stock to the receiver.  If it isn't broken, it's a very simple fix.
