Title: How High
Post by: Watimberghost on June 29, 2012, 04:41:52 PM
Was wondering if anyone has tried to venture into their high country spots for some scouting this year. Seems like that snow level is going to let me access my areas a few weeks earlier this year. Where's your snow line elevation at in your wilderness/high country areas?

Well, I can tell you that Baby shoe pass is still closed by snow.  Where I hunt though I can get to it without any snow.  The biggest problem I have is wind falls everywhere.

Yeah, its crazy how that snow limits you. 2 years ago we were all over our high country spots by early and mid july. Last year we couldnt even get half way in by late july. Hoping to get up there this year by late july. Wouldn't mind a hot and sunny July to get that snow melted

Lyman lake Snotel says 65'' of snow with a snow water equivalent of 39.6".

Not all mine are open yet.  Still have about two weeks on a couple.
