Title: Bear Anarchy Review
Post by: carpsniperg2 on June 30, 2012, 02:14:39 PM
Hey Everyone,

I was able to find some time today to sit down and do a write up for the new bow. So I hope you enjoy it and find this useful.

My Anarchy is a 70lb model and maxes at 73lbs. They make this new bow in peak weights of 50-60-70lbs. This bow walked away from what a lot of other comapines have been doing. In trending times a lot of bows are getting smaller and smaller and there brace heights have been dropping. I, however, have always favored a longer ATA bow with a longer brace height. I find these bows to be much more forgiving. The Bear Anarchy come in at 35 1/4" ATA and has a brace of 7 1/4". Making this bow very forgiving. I was very surprised with the ibo on this forgiving bow at 340fps. Bear Archery has designed a new cam on this bow they call the flat top cam.

The bare bow come in at 3.8lbs. With all my accessories on the bow it comes in at 5.1 lbs. My accessories are a Trophy Ridge Revolution arrow rest, Micro Alpha V5 sight and a shockstop deluxe stabilizer with wrist strap. Making it one of the lighter hunting bows that I have used over the years as my personal bow.

At 70lbs at 29" using a 428g arrow, I was getting around 305fps +/- 2fps. This arrow weight combo is my hunting setup for here in Washington. After my hunting seasons here in WA or if I hunt out of state. I will drop my arrow weight down a little bit and pick up a little more speed.

When Bear put this bow out at the price point of around $900.00 I was kind of surprised. Most of the Bear bows are in the mid to lower range. As soon as I saw this bow and got a chance to shoot it I will tell you it is worth every red cent! This bow is so forgiving and with the longer ATA and brace height of 7 1/4 to still be kicking out my heavy Washington legal arrows at over 300fps, I am very happy to say the least. The draw on this bow is like butter and with a 80% letoff, it holds very very true and is not jumpy in any way.

Bear also ships this bow with an over molded grip that can be taken off. It has a smaller stream line grip under the over molded grip. I prefer the smaller, thinner grips on my hunting bows. I also like to wrap them in a tacky type tape for extra grip in the rain.

Overall I think Bear hit the ball out of the park with this new bow. I pride myself in testing and shooting most new bows that hit the market. There are very few each year that I don't get a chance to shoot. I am happy the Anarchy will be joining me in the field this year as my full time hunting bow.

If you are in the market for a super high quality bow, make sure you check out the new Anarchy at you local Bear Archery dealer. You will be happy that you did.

Good shooting...

Carp

I didn't shoot it but i did look at it at cabelas.   It feels better than the shorter one for sure.   One thing i noticed that i didn't like so much was the shelf it has kinda rounded and a big hole in the middle.

Good write up.  What tape are you using for your bow grip?

Good write up.  What tape are you using for your bow grip?

I use rod wraps, they can be found online or in a lot of sporting goods stores. I love the way they feel. They are pretty cheap at about 5.00-8.00.

I do not know why that shelf is like that. I can assure you there is a reason behind it :chuckle: It has zero negative effects on the bow of the way it shots. It does look a little different but with the name anarchy I did not expect it to look like the other bows out there :chuckle:
