Title: Shooting Albinos?
Post by: cascademountainhunter on August 12, 2008, 03:14:39 PM: Is it legal to shoot albino stuff in Washington? I know you cant in some states but I dont know about Washington.

Post by: flashover52 on August 12, 2008, 06:23:00 PM: I know of a piebald elk taken last year during rifle season up in Gifford Pinchot. The guys had the cow head on the wood pile out front with the others for display along the road.

We didn't personally get to stop and see the hide but we talked with a guy in the woods on our way out who told us about the details.

But pure albinos are protected...They are listed as exotic wildlife and are also protected because the general public enjoys viewing them.

I looked it up a while back, and it is as was already stated....the law that was on the books was repealed several years ago. There is absolutely no reason to protect albinos and that is why the law was repealed.

If they were trying to protect them you think it would be in the regs. The last time I checked with Olympia which was 5 or 6 years ago you could bang 'em.
