The Z7 bows are very nice, but I didn't care for the short ATA. I honestly don't really think you'll gain much over what you have with your Switchback.

Ive been thinking about getting a z7. What do you think of it?I love the z7extreme. It is light, smooth and seems easier to pull than the switchback because of the reverse assist roller guard. The biggest difference is the break over point. When you pull it back the back wall is real solid but if you creep forward at all you get back into the cam and the bow wants to take off. It is the price you pay for speed, small valley, I guess. When I went to get my z7 I took my old switchback down to the shop so I could shoot them side by side, I wasn't sure about the small valley right away so I kept my switchback for a year while I hunted with the z7 just to make sure I wouldn't have regrets, I had heard alot of people say they wished they had never sold their switchback. As long as you have good form and always hold the bow tight against the back wall you are fine.
I am happy with the z7 but could have been just as happy staying with the switchback.

That valley is what I miss about the Switchback. I haven't had any issues with the Monster 7.0 but the switchback was more comfortable.

I used to shoot a Hoyt Ultratec and was shooting like your pictures. When they came out with the Vectrix, I shot it at the pro-shop and Robin Hooded the first two arrows I shot (without a sight attached). I told myself "I HAVE to have this bow". I bought it and wasn't as happy as I was with the Ultratec. I bought the Alpha Max the following year, which I still shoot.
I guess my suggestion is; dialed in like you are, I wouldn't worry about upgrading bows (unless it breaks)! Newer isn't always "happier".
PS: If anyone is in the market for a Hoyt Vectrix that's only been shot about 200 times, I've got one for sale!

I read an article from Chuck Adams a few years ago about shooting. In the article he talks about only shooting 1 arrow per distance. Instead of 6-10 arrows at the same yardage. In it he saying shooting 1 arrow 10yrd at a 1 1/2" dot is the same as shooting a 12" dot at 80yrds. It's all about the relation to the size of the "dot" in relation to the size of your pin as the yardage changes. I don't remember the whole article but the gist of it was to start at 10 yards with a 1 1/2" dot and increase the dot by 1 1/2" for every 10yrds you go back.
1 1/2"-10yrds
3"-20yrds
4 1/2"-30yrds
ect.
Also in the article he talks about when you start your practice session to start at the yardage of your middle pin. So if you have 20-30-40-50-60 yard pins to start every practice session at 40yrds. I was bad at starting at 20yrd and them moving back. When I switched to starting at my middle pin I notices better groups at the other yardages as well. Hope this helps :hello:
