OK, guys asking for advice on the summer Steelhead fishery below Bonneville or the lower end of the Columbia? I have not done it as of yet, but want to get into it. Anyone that has a fair amount of experience for Steelhead down there that is willing to share??? Surely can exchange a oversized/keeper Sturgeon trip, trade a trip to learn... Takers?

Most of the guys are in shallow water. The river is still high. 12-18 ft of water.
Micheal Jackson spin glows, rd head chartreuse SG ,or chartreuse with orange dots SG, tipped with small, coon shrimp, about 18 in dropper.
or spinners in red, orange, with rainbow blades, half and half blades, or copper blades.
Lots of natives being released right now.

Are you in a boat or off the bank. We killed them this weekend in a boat lower river. PM me if you want info.

Ive been plunkin from the bank near longview and cathlamet and been doing really well. We been using the green tiger stripe spin glos and watermelons but have seen them caught on several other colors as well. Use about a 12 to 16 inch drop and 36 inch leader on the spin glo and been tipping it with either a coon shrimp or red prawns and shrimp scent. This is what we been using and like I said been doing really well. Good luck!
