Title: Has the Sauk suaittle road washout been fixed
Post by: NW-GSP on July 31, 2012, 07:01:53 PM: I was wanting to hike green mountain but don't feel like mountain biking in past where the washout is

Post by: 50CalJim on August 01, 2012, 10:50:01 PM: I havn't checked it since late last yr but I'm under the impression that it will never be fixed. The Tree Huggers or Salmon Huggers want to keep it wild & scenic or something like that. :tree1:

Post by: NW-GSP on August 01, 2012, 10:54:15 PM: The road is closed right now for construction. I think you are right about them not fully fixing it though. I was out there today and the road was closed like three miles in when I went out there today

Post by: timberghost72 on August 08, 2012, 06:37:20 PM: You can get around it by going over Rat Trap pass off of FS road 23. But the Suaittle is closed again about 12 miles from the end. Thats how I understand what I read. I was going to go over that last weekend but they just opened up FS road 49 so I decided to go up that since I have never been up the North Fork Sauk. Beautiful up there. I may hike the trail this weekend.
