got a few pics of one interesting deer the other day! has anyone seen this before pretty freaky!
-
Can't remember what tv show it was but they featured a buck that had a cage around his face-his antlers grew down and around his entire face :yike:
-
i dont care if he stayed a two point to me that is shoulde mount worthy! really cool buck!
-
sometimes injury can change scull structure or force anteler growth to be abnormal, very cool
-
Years ago my dad shot a Mule deer buck that one side grew down like that but was tight to his head.
-
A couple of times. Nice capture.
-
Cool buck, spelled deer wrong though..
-
Saw a "cactus" buck one time. That was pretty cool. I had only seen pictures of them before.
-
My .02 is the pedicle was damaged at some time.
-
Seen a few.... Couldn't put a 3rd point on one during season for the life of me or he'd be on the wall...
-
Kinda looks like the buck I have on camera...
-
Crazy looking growth... I wonder how he fares with the ladies...?
I kindof hope he doesn't pass those genes along!
-
Friend of mine's son shot a spike whitetail a few years back that had the same thing going on - turned out that the antler had actually broken at the skull and when the velvet went away it fell off
-
Crazy
-
Cool looking bucks!
-
bucklucky has a picture on his site of a blacktail that had a horn growing down along side his face. pretty cool
-
I to have seen this before. The buck had a deformed right horn and and his left rear leg had been broken in the past but was fully healed when killed. I even remember reading somewhere that this type of horn growth reflects damage done to bone structure on the opposite side of the body.
-
I passed on a buck like that last year. One side was a nice 2 point, the other an odd mess, I just couldn't put three points on one side for sure. It is neat too see deer like that.
-
Ive seen a few in pics and on TV. i would love to put 1 on the wall. It would be an awesome mount
-
Funky for sure.
-
So could you call it a "drop beam" :dunno: :chuckle:
-
I've only heard of them around the Hanford Site....
... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
:yike: weird ive only heard of the antelope that had his antler grow into his eye
-
I have a 4 point blacktail that has a drop horn going down one side of its face. The 4 point side is awesome, big fronts and small backs and the drop horn is just a big club with an eye guard.
-
IMHO These bucks are perfect to be taken out of the gene pool. They'd look real good on my wall.
-
Hands free taken to a whole new level... :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
