Title: Thinking of a new bullet mold
Post by: MountainDevil54 on August 13, 2012, 08:57:58 PM
Been doing a little searching and came across Accurate Molds. Extremely great prices too for a custom mold designed to your preferences.

I emailed asking about a smooth sides .500" mold in 300 to 350 grains. Tom emailed back with this bullet.

I think after hunting season I will sit down and really do some chatting with Tom and see about having a 3 cavity mold made with this bullet and the possibility of making it a round nose. The bullet mold pictured throws them at 325gr when wheel weights. Most likely a bit heavier with pure lead.

My deal with the smooth sides..... Order the mold in .500" and then knurl it up to .504" with a *censored* file. It should fit my CVA bores like a glove.

Looks good!

As you want to size up, you would also have the option to paperpatch that round.
