Title: Buying points for Wyoming
Post by: cem3434 on August 18, 2012, 07:07:24 PM: I want to start buying points for Wyoming. I have never applied for tags there, so can i actually buy points before ever applying? If so, how do i go about doing so?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Regardless, how do you feel about putting in for points in a state that is overrun with wolves? Or am I wrong about that, too? I've only been through that state once.

Post by: Basket Rack on August 18, 2012, 08:25:29 PM: I think you can still find some great elk hunting in Wyoming if you do your homework. The northwest corner might not be what it used to be but there are still plenty of quality units.

Post by: Mr Mykiss on August 21, 2012, 12:53:18 PM: Looks like unless you've got a bunch of points already it might be QUITE AWHILE before you draw a "Blue Chip" hunt. According to EHJ it looks like even with max points you're looking at a 5% chance of drawing any of the top 20 hunts... or am I wrong?

I kind of have a good in over there. A good buddy that i went to taxidermy school with lives there and is a guide and taxidermist and has offered whatever kind of help i need. Thinking about cashing in my lope points next year but we will see, lets just get this year over first. :tup:
