Title: Mineral blocks

Post by: coonhound on August 19, 2008, 07:49:16 PM: You'll pay less than half for a block from the feed store VS sporting goods store and it will be 5 times as big. I like the salt with trace minerals, all feed stores should carry them. Actually I prefer the granular over the block and then mix it into the top 3 or 4 inches of dirt and turn it into a mineral lick.

Cheep enough that you can buy a couple and see what the critters like. I've got both iodized salt and one of the red mineral blocks out in roughly the same place, and they're already through the first mineral block and only about 20% through the salt block.

Yep, I picked up a 50 lb block yesterday. Less than 8 bucks.
