Title: tree stand question for spot by river
Post by: Naches Sportsman on August 23, 2012, 10:12:20 PM
I have been planning on getting this muley that I have been keeping an eye out while fishing this summer.  the question is, should I hang it by where he beds or the watering spot or how about where he crosses the highway at? would a ground blind also work for hunting by the river less than 1/4 mile? the trails are pretty well marked and I have him on camera.  I just need to clear some shooting lanes and wait till october.

thanks for any tips or advice

I also have the multi season but do not want to spend 182.00 on a 5 point.

I wouldnt hang it by where he beds and I would stay away from the highway as well.  If it is still hot in October, then by the water might be a good spot.  If you are gun hunting then you shouldn't have to get too close, find a good vantage point where you can watch the trail.

hang it by the trail. less chance of spooking him out of his bed. if you spook him out of his bed he may not come back for weeks. If it stays warm then he should stay heading to water and on his summer routine. easier to pattern that way
