I hae an 06 with a 7" lift and running 35's.  It takes a lot to get chev/gmc's in the air

I had a 2007 GMC Sierra HD2500 crew cab 4x4 that I put the leveling kit on (torsion keys with front shock mounts).  Raised it up about 2" and looked way better than stock, rode exactlly the same.  I had BF goodrich LT28575r17 on it.  You have to be careful with the front wheel wells though, unless you have enough back spacing on your wheels, you will rub with 33's at the back of the fender well on both front sides.

is it a 1500 or a HD? i have a 2008 chevy 1500 that i have a 2.5 inch leveling kit on and am running 305 55 r20s i can go a bit bigger but they were already on wheels and a good deal. if it is a newer body 2007.5 or newer 1500 and like the chevy it wont have tortion bars so you have to use strut spacers for the leveling kit. some require taking the strut apart others dont.

And then there's the question...

Why?

I do get a chuckle out of all these guys that bitch and moan about gas prices, yet happily pay thousands to destroy their trucks gas mileage.

thats why i only went with a leveling kit. i thought the lower in the front looked stupid! and my wheels and tires are craigslist specials that i got cheaper than i could put good tires on my factory wheels for. i agree miles, people put way too much into the looks of their pavement queens. i can not get any more places offroad with mine leveled than i could have with teh factory ride height.
still get 17+ mpg also

The reason the back is higher than the front is that they are designed to be driven with a load in the back, thats what that box shaped thing on the back is for...hauling stuff. Use it as a truck and it will ride level!

A 2012 GM 1500 4x4 has more ground clearance than a comparable Dodge or Ford.

LOL! Won't it look dumb when it's sagging in the back like a dog taking a dump after you lift the front though?  :chuckle:

who's bitchin about gas prices?  all my gas is paid for by my employer, and I only lost about 1 MPG with the bigger tires.  I have a 1500 now for work and a bad ass jeep for hunting

Well good for you.   90% of Americans have been bitching about gas prices for the last 4-5 years.   Where have you been?  :chuckle:

it sets level right now when it is unloaded. again, i dont drive alll over everyday with 500 lbs of weight in the back. i wanted my truck to ride level for daily driving.
... and yes miles, my truck does spend most of its life on the pavement, but it aint afraid of the woods and has its share of eastern WA pinstripes.  :IBCOOL: and it hauls plenty of dead *censored*!
