Title: They're heading out!
Post by: washelkhunter on August 30, 2012, 09:49:31 PM
Was up at my huckleberry pickin spot today hoping to maybe bump into a bear while pickin; no luck. Did however catch a 5x5 bull nappin in the middle of a skid road. Sorry guys no pics. I cruised past him and then stopped hoping he'd stilll be there after grabbing my camera and a call, but no soap. He moved off into the thick with some cows then pushed off. Did however get 2 freezer bags of hucks! Yum. Was only 30 minutes from home and counted 12 rigs heading for the deer opener. Its finally here.

P.S. Thought i'd sneak my '04 bear in.   :chuckle:

Unfortuneately I think most of the people you saw were probably labor day campers.  Our state is absolutely retarded when it comes to coinciding labor day campers and hunting season.   :bash: :bash:  Unless your in a place that gets way more pressure than our area.  We aren't going until next wed so we can avoid the circus of tree huggers.

Yeah in a lot of areas the season opener for archery is a joke if you can drive to your camp.... A couple of my friends are doing the same as you jrebel...
