I have the XDM 4.5" 45acp and love it. If the XDS 45acp is managable on recoil and accurate at 7yds to 10yds I might consider getting one for summer conceal carry.

Post by: ellensburgpo on September 03, 2012, 07:19:59 AM: The xds is fairly easy to control IMHO. Of course that is a subjective thing. I have an extended mag for it that makes the grip basically full size. With one of the stock five round magazines there is a little more "snap" to it, but still very manageable. Terrific firearm, shooting it accurately at only 10 yards shouldn't be an issue.

Yes, they are controllable. She is ~110#'s 5'3" and has very limited pistol experience.
