Title: Public land
Post by: 270Flat on September 03, 2012, 01:56:26 PM
Had a great opening weekend..!?!? Saw lots of deer (no shooter bucks in range). But as I headed back for my evening hunt last night after doing the honey-do-list. I found my spot where I was to hunt, taken by another hunter!  :'( had scouted early and often to set up my spot. Bringing in the deer with feed.

Oh well! Need to get out and meet some land owners next summer for some land with less access. As it is my first season bow hunting I'm trying to stay positive.

Best plan of action?

Hang in there, public can be a pain, just try to beat them to the punch next time.

Will do my best! Gotta keep my head up. Thanks for the encouragement! Great to hear from a local guy too!

Bummer, you can't leave too early when you're hunting public land.  But, being there first doesn't always guarantee you'll be the only one.
