My girlfriend and I have been talking about learning to use a bow correctly before purchasing one.
Looking for a friendly place with intro lessons in recurve and compound.
Any tips on getting started would be nice too.
Good places to purchase? Online? I know all the gun sites :P

The nock point in mountlake terrace. Contact bob of next step archery, he knows his stuff. I applaud you for wanting to take a lesson before you start it will pay huge dividends!

:yeah:
that's the place!

Skookum is a good place too. You can work with Doug at the archery shop or with others at the range. Puyallup, skookumarchers.com

Thanks for the response!!
MLT is 1+hr drive, but I want private lessons and they look like they offer that..
Puyallup is a lot closer but its a multi up to 30 person class...
I will shoot emails off to both and see what happens!
I did a lot of impulse buying, trial and error when I got into shooting, so I want to eliminate some of that with archery :P
EDIT: Re-read skookum and it says they do offer one on one lessons, but to call for information, so I will do that tomorrow!

Doug at the shop in Puyallup will treat you right. Tell him you got the info off of Hunt WA. He has a lot of friends on here.

Greg, you have a great archery shop right in Enumclaw now. Go check out Denton at Rock Creek Archery on Battersby next to that MMA workout place. However, I think he's closed down for hunting for another week or so. There is a nice indoor range there and he gives lessons.
Once you take lessons and get really hooked come on over and join me at the Cedar River Bowmen just north of Enumclaw. Check out this website www.cedarriverbowmen.net (http://www.cedarriverbowmen.net)

go to wholesale sports in federal way, the guy at the arch counter is crazy helpful. took us back to the bow range for like 45 minutes, let us shoot just about every bow they had, and took a while helping us with form, technique, the works. The first 5 shots of my life were all within 4" of the bulls-eye, guy is truly amazing and makes it VERY easy to feel confident in what your doing. My kid got to try, little brat bulls-eyed 2 outta 2 first 2 shots ever. With what he taught us in that 45 minutes i can confidentially repeat that at 20 yards over and over and just learn and grow from there.
